My name is Sarah, and since you’re here, I imagine you would like to know who I am. I am all the usual things- a believer, a wife, a mother, a homemaker, a bookworm, addicted to coffee, inspired by Jesus and books and art and music and people with interesting stories. I’ve been married to Eric for almost ten years, and we have two little boys- Seth and Hawk. We are a homeschool family and our lifestyle is easygoing and simple.
If you’re looking for perfection, you’re in the wrong place. If the images I share happen to look clean, you can be sure there’s a mess happening in the periphery! My kids eat peanut butter and jelly, and we watch too many cartoons and don’t get enough exercise, and there’s a high probability that I’m wearing sweatpants and haven’t showered today. I’ve been looking for my glasses for an hour, but they’re propped right here on top of my head… and heaven forbid if I need to locate the car keys. We haven’t been anywhere in days.
I started Plum Wilder to record the story of my life. I began blogging in 2010, but I retired my first blog after my youngest son was born because I was too overwhelmed to continue. Stepping away from the internet and social media culture for a season helped me to better define my priorities but I couldn’t escape the urge to reconnect. I believe it’s important to have a record of myself to pass down to my kids, and for better or worse, the internet is here to stay!
Our wise and loving Creator God crafted me in His image and has purposed me to be a planner, perpetual list-maker, creative, aesthetically-driven beauty seeker, encourager, leader and teacher. I use the spiritual gifts God gave me to serve my family, but I believe He also wants me to exist in community with other women. I can best love the women around me by sharing the good things He teaches me each day. My prayer is that the Plum Wilder blog will be a point of connection with other women who are desperate to follow Jesus wherever He might lead.
These kids are my constant companions, so they’ll make frequent appearances on this blog. God uses motherhood to teach me about His nature in ways that often surprise me. If you’d like to see more of our adventures, come follow us on Instagram. We’re rarely short on entertainment, and I love to share stories and snapshots from our daily life!
You might enjoy Plum Wilder if:
- You want to slow down and savor your days instead of rushing through life.
- You know the Bible is the handbook for your life, but you haven’t had enough time to read it lately.
- It’s 3 PM, and you haven’t decided yet what to cook for dinner tonight.
- You believe that a home is not complete without a huge stack of books in every room.
- Nature inspires you, but a fresh cup of coffee and climate-controlled interiors are even better.
- You want simple, realistic lifestyle inspiration.
- A small army of wild, feral children has taken over your home and you need to know you’re not alone.
- You can’t find either your glasses or your car keys.
Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy the time you spend with my family, and I pray our conversations will be sweet. May we both be inspired to live focused on the One who breathed us into this life and made us to love others for His sake.
