My mother-in-law has a subscription to Better Homes and Gardens, and she always passes the magazines on to me as soon as they arrive. This month’s issue features a tutorial for making these gorgeous macrame pendant lights! I have all the heart eyes for this macrame revival that’s popped up all over the internet in last few years, and the BHG article is timely since I’d already decided that I would try some sort of textile crafting this month.
One evening last week, I had some rare quiet time, and I sat down with a cup of coffee and Pinterest to gather more inspiration. I spotted macrame all over the place! Here’s some of my favorite finds:
I wonder if it’s too crazy to hang macrame in every room? Hmmmm. It’s funny how some trends come full circle- I’m thinking specifically about this creepy, musty old macrame owl from the 70s that I came across in a thrift shop a few years ago (shudder… those eyes…)! Now I halfway think an owl might just be cute, and as a matter of fact, I’m looking at a place on my kitchen wall that would be perfect right now…
I already ordered some supplies so I can try my hand at a little artful knotting. I haven’t fully decided yet what exactly I’m going to do- there are so many things you can make with macrame. Who knew?! Hopefully I’ll catch on easy and have something pretty to share very soon. What about you- would you be willing to try the macrame trend in your home?
