Happy Halloween! My kids are way too excited about the holiday to “do school” today, and that’s ok. We needed a little break, so I went super light on the lesson plan this morning and we’re taking it easy for the rest of the day. We have plans to get in costume after lunch and head out to Trick or Treat at our favorite library with some sweet friends.
Saturday night, the kids visited our neighbors in costume and we went to a nearby fall festival. Seth makes the cutest little Harry Potter without any front teeth (really… there’s five gone and another that’s barely hanging on!). Hawk is Fletcher the fox, and he’s got his favorite bedtime stuffy “Finn” to carry along… obviously, we love foxes.
I asked Hawk to take a picture of me sporting Gryffindor spirit next to the Boy Who Lived with my phone, and I think he did an alright job. For a three year old. After about five tries. Ha! It’s high time I start showing up on the other side of the camera sometimes. I’m not getting any younger, after all!
This evening, we’re going to a nearby subdivision with our cousins to do it proper. We didn’t get to go Trick or Treating last year because it was raining cats and dogs that night, so this will be Hawk’s first experience (not in a stroller) going door-to-door. I need prayers, because my guess it that we’ll be floating on a sugar high for the rest of the week…
