I hope no one will mind if I share this old picture of me while I make introductions. I really haven’t changed that much in the two years since it was taken. I even recently cut my hair again so that it’s similar to the way it was then… I just don’t think that anyone really wants to see the way I look today- in all my no-makeup, sweatpants and old t-shirt glory! I’m not glamorous in the slightest, not even a little bit fancy, and actually quite a bit boring.
Several years ago, I was a full-time working mom to one little boy. I was an administrative assistant (nothing exciting), but I spent all my energy just trying to survive. When I was laid off my job, I chose to stay home in faith that God would provide for us so that I could give all my energy to mothering. That is exactly what’s happened, and our family has never suffered for my decision not to go back to work. Three years ago, my husband and I welcomed a second boy home, making our family complete.
So here we all are in this rare family photo- it’s so uncommon that we all get together on the same side of the lens! This picture of our family is from our recent vacation in North Carolina (image credit to the nice woman from Florida that we met on the Blue Ridge Parkway just East of Asheville). The boy on the left is our six-year-old, Seth, and the little tyke with curly blonde hair is Hawk, who just turned three. My husband’s name is Eric, and we’ve been together for more than ten years now (pinch me!), married for nine.
There you are: now we’ve begun the slow process of introductions. These first few posts are certain to feel awkward, so I guess I should get them out of the way, one at a time. Tomorrow I’d like to tell you a little about our daily life!
